In May 2022, we were invited to work with Derby County Community Trust (DCCT) on the Opportunity Area Inclusion Conference & Showcase. We went along with our Pledge Wall and invited attendees to think about what inclusion means to them.
“The Social Higher Education Depot (S.H.E.D) has been honoured to work closely with Derby County Community Trust (DCCT) developing projects with the Opportunity Area since 2019; co-designing activities, ranging from school tours to city centre events and public installations. S.H.E.D projects in Derby evidence the range of key partners, including Derby Theatre, DCCT and Cultural Campus, who have worked together to champion inclusion and the team looks forward to supporting the Inclusion Charter.” Dr Rhiannon Jones, Associate Professor (Civic) at the University of Derby
“Derby Direction is a really important event for our city, providing a key moment for reflection and the opportunity to showcase the Opportunity Area Inclusion Programme, hear the findings of the social impact research and mark the launch of the Inclusion Charter. The event is also a call to action – evidenced by the necessity to keep building on the incredible work to support young people in our city.” Professor Keith McLay, Provost – Learning and Teaching at the University of Derby
